Fun Valley, CO

A perfect family vacation! The drive was a little long but totally worth it. It was as if we stepped back in time as we pulled in Fun Valley RV Camping Resort. Everyone is as friendly as can be. There are families of all ages all having a fun time enjoying the wonderful weather and the beautiful mountains. We spent 8 nights and nobody was ready to go home at the end. Some days were spent close to camp and others we explored the wonderful sites close by. There was never a dull moment, and the wonderful weather made it easy and comfortable to sleep in a tent all week. It was also nice to have Jason's family right next to us with all the luxuries of a great RV. I really hope we can go there next year and every year after.

Bicycles
It was perfect that just as Sara was learning to ride her bike we vacationed in a spot where everyone rode their bikes all day every day.

Watch out pedestrians she is on two wheels!!!

So we had a great success yesterday! Sara started riding her bike all by herself! She just turned 4 in May so we were really excited that she figured it out and we never had to get out those horrible training wheels. Santa brought her a bike for Christmas that was missing the pedals. She worked very hard figuring out how to balance and steer her bike with only two wheels. Then earlier this summer she told us that she could let go with her feet, which was her way of describing picking her feet up. So we kindly asked Santa if we could have some pedals and one of his elves were kind enough to deliver. She still needs a little help starting off but hopefully with some more practice she will be able to tackle hills and starting and stopping. We are soooo proud!

Clayton Can Swim!

So while it was not quite as easy as Sara's first time around of swim lessons, Ms. Carol once again prooved that she can teach anyone how to swim. It took several days of Clayton screaming at me for the whole lesson while I forced him to participate in going under the water until he finally realized that it could be fun. Last Thursday something just seemed to click and now I cannot hardly keep the boy above the water. He spent the Fourth of July diving in over and over, and even going down a giant slide into the deep end several times. I am now working on getting some fun underwater shots of him I hope to posts soon.

Independance Day

We had a fantastic holiday! We started off with a fun ward activity where the kids enjoyed getting to cruise the parking lot in the bike parade. Then we headed into Rockwall for some super fun swimming and great fireworks. We did have to watch most of the fireworks on the way home since Sara was a little frightened by the loud noise, but I was fine with that because we were all exhausted.
