Must Trudge On...

So this week I have reached the point of boredom. I new it would come once I stopped working, but I tried so hard to fight it. The first few weeks I loved getting time during the day to clean my home and teach my children, but it didn't last. Eventually I got tired of cleaning the same rooms over and over each day and I began to long for adult interaction, and then, before I knew it, I started getting really lazy. I am home schooling both Sara and Clayton but they are in such a great routine that every morning after circle time they simply sit at their desks and do whatever work I give them for hours. Which makes me very proud, but also leaves me sitting at the computer ready to answer question but still bored. So I am hunting for ways to make being a stay at home mom more exciting and less lonely. I will focus each morning on how I can be a better mom, teacher, and wife. So hopefully instead of getting bored with each passing day I will get uplifted. Wish me luck:)

You need to find something to do that you only do for you. Something that you don't do for Jason, or the kids or the dog or the house. Something that you do because you love it... be it reading, crafting... scrapbooking... whatever. Take an online course or two. Anything that you want to do for yourself that you can work on while they are working on school stuff. Of course playgroups and all that will help too... sorry, it can get lonely sometimes but we've all been there and you don't have to stick it out alone.

Thank you very much for the support. We are still sad that we are not in Rockwall right now. I thought for sure that is where we would end up, but I guess it just isn't always how we plan it. It is nice to know that we still have friends far and near.

I really commend your choices. I have been reading this book and I really love it. It is encouraging, inspiring, and uplifting. Maybe you would like it too. (Conroe was beautiful, by the way! We so enjoyed our visit but missed seeing you!)

Here is the book: http://deseretbook.com/Ultimate-Career-Art-Homemaking-Today-Daryl-Hoole/i/4959788

Thanks Amanda. I found the book and I also found the blog that has lots of extra articles to go along with it. I could use some good reading. I am considering starting a book group here but I would need lots of good suggestions for books.
